I have stayed in Cuidad de Guanajuato on two separate occasions in 2020 (February and December) for a total of about a week. Overall, I spent around a month in Guanajuato state in 2020. In that time I spent most of my time in El Tigre, Xoconostle, and Yuriria. We really fell in love with Cuidad de Guanajuato. Having a major university in the city really changes the atmosphere and makes communicating a lot easier than in the rural areas like El Tigre. I was able to get by on my โ€œtwo year old

Small area/beach, claustrophobic. I think enough to do entertainment wise. Just expensive due the mass amounts of CA residents/expats/business owners, wifi is also weak unless you are at a top place like Sayulita Hotel. Surf break is essentially one peak and crowded, the locals don't really share it. One week tops here.

I lived there for 3 years... If you wanna work, you'll really struggle. Sometimes the WiFi would be down for like 5 days. If you need to download heavy files you probably wont be able to, WiFi will fall before you can wait the 4 hours it would take. You can rely on your Telcel, but not even that one was working all the time. Don't believe the hype! I ended up moving out.
