When will the Coronavirus travel restrictions from U.S. to Colombia be lifted?

Hello everyone,
I will come to live in Colombia for one year.
What is the best solution with the Visa?
I thought to have a Visa for tourists for 3 months and renewal the visa for 6 months. Is that hard to renewal a tourist Visa in Colombia?

Considering Bogota for a while but recent reporting indicates quite a few robbery related deaths and the fact that US State Dept personnel and their families are not allowed to use inter- or intra-city bus transportation, with flights mandatory between Colombian cities. Anyone have any insight as to the current reality vs such reporting?

I know they often don’t match but since our nomadlist.com rates Bogota safety as “bad”, I would greatly appreciate anyone providing a current or recent boots on the ground status report as to this effect.

I’m considering a month or two in Medellin and wondered what the co-working space options are like. I want something more than a cafe, so happy to pay the going rate. I spent a couple of months at Hubud in Bali earlier this year and loved it, but realise that I’ve set the bar pretty high.

Has anyone used Epicenter? I read somewhere it is pretty busy. Any other options?

I am currently living in Medellin until February. I want to find some of people favorite spots for surfing and community. I have heard Nicaragua and Guatemala have many options.

Multiple one month or more stays in countries below the US (CA, SA, Caribbean as all?). Spanish isn’t a problem. Safety, internet, and surf are priorities. Ive heard good things about Panama and CR but they amount of gringos currently in these places is sort of a turn off (Im a gringo…but that is my preference). Budget is sub $1500/month.

I just arrived to Medellin and did not anticipate that no one would speak any english at all. (I’m used to Asia where everyone knows the basics)

I need a SIM card, I found a place at the mall where they sell them, but it’s not a simple transaction and I don’t speak Spanish.

My girlfriend and I are working and slow travelling through Central and South America. We usually live in each location for around three to six months. For instance, we’ve been living on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for nearly six months now.

We’re planning our next location in Central and South America to rent for six months and we’re hearing great things about Colombia.

We’d like to live in a safe and quiet natural location with friendly locals, a comfortable climate and have access to quality produce (food).

Can anyone recommend where we can live? Any tips on rentals would also be appreciated.

My husband and I have residency in the state of Tennessee in the USA and my in-laws collect our mail for us there. We only pass through Tennessee about once a year.

Does anyone know what happens if we’re called to jury duty? Is traveling a legit excuse to get out of it?

I work as remote freelance developer (might become permanent) for US companies and I want to go back to Colombia. I already used my tourist visa. I have seen that it’s possible to get a TP7 for independent work but I don’t understand two points :

1. Authorization or registration of the foreigner’s activity, issued by the respective regulatory entity when appropriate. (What is the regulatory entity here?)
2. Document certifying the address of the place where the activity or work is to be carried out, such as an authentic copy of the RUT or certification of existence and legal representation, issued by the respective Chamber of Commerce.
   At the moment I’m in Arequipa, Peru. Do I have to remotely create a company in Colombia? Do I need a contract as Independent with a Colombian company?
   I got a UK LTD too if that can help.
   PS: If you know some great intermediary companies that can handle all this against fees.

This is quite a specific question but can be generic in term of method.
I need to get some time out of Bogota so I can come on the remaining days of my touristic visa in order to enrol in a cheapest university to study Spanish.
So basically going out for 2 weeks, come back, do the papers during the 3 remaining weeks.
I’m trying to find the cheapest flight + hotel combination for this period of time using Nomadlist.
Anybody has a better method/experience?

I’m an author, US passport, Spanish residency. I could live anywhere (or nowhere), but I’m unsure what the best option would be. I’ve been told I should pay tax in the country where I wrote the book, where I reside when the money is paid, where I reside when the advance is paid, etc. Nobody really seems to know. Any other writers facing these issues? Thanks.
