  • Berlin

Been living in 3 different centrally located airbnb in Berlin (2018), each between 800 and 900โ‚ฌ per month for 40-45 sqm (we're two, so 400-450โ‚ฌ each). Each time a full flat and not a shared airbnb, legal now since some months (though it was always possible to get a full flat before as well). Internet was always between 15 and 50 mbps. I spend 100โ‚ฌ per week on food, including restaurants (pretty cheap here), check for Turkish market on Maybachufer and Turkish stores in Neukรถlln (I spend less on food here than in Chiang Mai!). Berlin is such an awesome place to live, very multicultural, very tolerant, many different neighborhoods, quite relaxed feeling, many parks, lakes all around. No need to speak German at all. Come over here, probably one one of the best place on earth ;) (written in Sept 2018)

All those saying Dublin is boring need a reality check, it has an amazing nightlife with incredibly friendly people. I agree a lot of the scores are way off but its true that it is ridiculously expensive especially for accommodation.

Enjoyed Krakow. I was only there for 4 days which I think was perfect. It's a small big city with a beautiful old town square, great restaurants, fun sites, and good history. But if I stayed for a month or longer I believe it would have become a tad too small and boring for myself. Personally, enjoy Warsaw (where I have been for a month) more than Krakow if you're debating between the two Polish cities.

Antigua is a fun, historic and compact city with enough international visitors to make it comfortable for any expat for digital nomad. In recent decades the city has evolved into an international Spanish-learning destination, for the high quality of life, tourism amenities, access to nature, and low cost. It's also a few hour drive from one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen: Lake Atitlan.

On the bright side: Clean and generally safe, good infrastructure, close to nature. Negative side: One of the most difficult places in the world to make friends, not much happening in the city, very expensive and broken housing market. Spent 3 years living in Porto, must say it's maybe the best city I've lived in so far. Its super hospitable people, delicious food, good English speaking and well educated population, entrepreneurship opportunities and cheap (comparing to Lisbon) cost of living make a combination that is quite hard to beat in Europe.
