I spent 7 days there. It's a little town for beach, surf and party. However, in the place "SELINA", you have a good environment to work, in front of the beach. The coworking space there isn't good, but the coffee inside the same "building" is very cool. I would recommend you to stay here 3 or 4 days, after that it's a bit boring. It's quiet in the week day, so better you manage to schedule to be there at least one friday or saturday, if you like partying.

I have been living in Quito for almost 3 years, and at this moment in time, I can not recommend it as a travel or remote work destination. A number of high profile terrorist attacks have rocked the country, and the prevalence of random violence and kidnappings in urban areas is increasing. Drug trafficking has decreased safety throughout the country, and no one is out at night past 8 pm. The streets are literally empty once it gets dark. I wish it weren't so, but I'm not considering leaving beca

The salsa capital of the world. If you want to learn how to dance, go here. There are so many great places to learn and practice and at a fraction of learning anywhere else. The people are some of the most loving and kind people I've ever encountered. It's a bit of a party scene. You can also access the pacific very easily from Cali. The weather is always beautiful. As is the case with any Latin American country, you need to develop a 6th sense for your belongings and surroundings. Don't pull

Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

In addition, life there is very cheap compared to other big cities in the world. You can get apartments with a rooftop pool, gym and co-working
