Recommendations for the Swiss Alps?

by @jyarnallschane |  | 17 comments

Hi all!

I will be moving to Switzerland a bit earlier than expected and would love to stay in the Swiss Alps for 2-3 weeks. Any of you have any recommendations for a solo traveler that wants to ski in the morning and work on my computer in the afternoon? I need to be mindful of my budget, although I donโ€™t have to live super cheap. Anyone want to join me?

Introduce yourself โ€” who are you, where are you and what do you do?

by @coffeeshopceo |  | 672 comments

tl;dr: introduce yourself in this thread.

We must all get sick of the same backpacker travel questions when we meet new friends, I know I do.

You know the ones - where are you from, whereโ€™ve you been, where are you going, what do you do, how long have you been doing it - etc.

The novelty of answering these questions wears off after maybe a week, but theyโ€™re nonetheless insightful and no matter how much we hate them, we find ourselves asking others.

So letโ€™s bring the dreaded backpacker questionnaire to NomadForum and introduce ourselves shall we?

**

  • whatโ€™s your name?
  • where are you from?
  • how long have you been away from home?
  • what do you do?
  • where are you currently?
  • where are you going?
  • what has been memorable for you so far?
  • will you go home anytime soon?
  • what have you learnt during your time as a nomad?
  • [insert your own question here]

**

No need to answer them all if you donโ€™t want to
But the more you shareโ€ฆ The merrier!

Any nomads travelling south in South America?

by @christabeiia |  | 9 comments

Hola everyone from Colombia! I have recently landed in South America and am planning on making my way south from here over the next six months. I expect to only relocate on the weekends so I can keep my 9-5 wifi schedule, but other than that I have no real plans for destinations or timelines. Iโ€™d would like to meet other digital nomads to team up withโ€” Anyone on or beginning a similar path in this region?

Digital work in return for lodgings and food?

by @tuesdaygroup |  | 18 comments

Hi Everyone,

Iโ€™m myself a digital nomad. So this is a nomad 2 nomad question

It seems to be a popular trend for people to live and work on local farms in returns for daily meals and lodgings. (Southern Portugal)

Typically for 1-3 months periods

My Question
Iโ€™m just purely throwing out an idea here. But would any digital nomads be interested in a similar deal ?. Digital work in return for lodgings and food??

Im interested to hear peoples feelings on this one, be it good or bad! I understand this wouldnt be for everyone but a might be appealing to others?

Thanks for reading my question. If any nomads are interested right off the bat feel free to drop me a PM for further details.

Anyone interested in a meetup in Lisbon soon?

in Lisbon, Portugal by @flyingscottie |  | 21 comments

Hey members who are in Lisbon! It seems like some of us are in the Slack chat group, and some are not and messages are being missed and cross posted etc.

How about we set a date and time for a DN get together?

I know that @joshadamlevy @Philippe @bisonravi @alldreamedup are hereโ€ฆ anyone else around?
