Favorite city in the entire world and honestly people who prefer Barcelona to it just simply did not do Madrid right. This city has everything you could possibly want in a city (besides a beach of course). So safe, amazing transportation all over the city and country, amazing location to travel easily and cheaply to the rest of Europe. Restaurant and nightlife scenes are unparalleled as someone else said in another comment. Did you know Madrid has more bars per capita than anywhere in the world?

A good place for adventurous young types who enjoy their youth and want to date, meet other expats, etc. We didnโ€™t enjoy it as a young family though. Streets are unbearable for a stroller and the cost of living isnโ€™t that great if you want to live a proper lifestyle.

Pros: -Great airport for connections to Africa and South America. -Has some really beautiful views. -Great fruit and fish. -Native Portuguese people are generally friendly and helpful. -Wonderful moderate climate (better than Spain) Cons: -The dirtiest major city I've seen in Europe. Filthy buildings and dog crap everywhere. -Unsafe - most other women I spoke to said they feel unsafe walking alone here (being leered at, whistled at and followed by the mostly immigrant men is a common occurrenc

  • Edinburgh

Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities and I've spent quite a bit of time here. It's charming, friendly, beautiful, and walkable, and has a range of cafes and coffeeshops with fast wifi. The downsides: it's pretty expensive (housing especially), and there doesn't seem to be much of a nomad scene. The general tech scene seems to be smallish but growing (CodeBase seems cool), but not many nomads seem to come here.

I was born and raised in Belgrade and all I can say is the city is very underrated. Been to many major cities in Europe, Northern Africa, and also lived for half a year in Los Angeles. I don't wanna sound as if I'm a big local patriot. I will try to be as much as genuine as possible. I completely agree with the fact that most places are full of smoke from cigarettes yet there are parts of the objects separated from smoking sections. This is available in many restaurants, cafes, bars, etc. You

Cool city with lots of fun places to go out, very nice restaurants and quite an international environment. I went there twice already and in winter it's horribly cold, while in summer it's super hot. Definitely recommend going there in Spring/Autumn. The castle is nice and Danube riverside is great too, you'll get lots of things to do. Can recommend Nomad Traveller's Bar and there daily pubcrawl! Also, to all fellow vegans, the food scene is great. Lot's of places order vegan options and if you

I much preferred it to Triana, which seems to be more touristy nowadays despite being billed as an โ€œauthenticโ€ experience. I studied here. Old town is too busy with tourists to live in for my tase, but there are plenty of districts to choose from. Accommodation is cheap, and you can get mobile data plan in every convenience store. It's also quite safe - local girls aren't afraid to walk alone after dawn. Just don't bother drunk people in front of the bar and you will be fine. Also if you didn't take some 1-2 day tours to nearby places you're missing out: Wieliczka, Energylandia, Zakopane, Auschwitz. Air quality and

Its time to make a review about my hometown. I lived many years in Sofia and Varna, so you can trust my review as a Bulgarian who lived in longterm in Vietnam, Germany, Thailand, Spain etc... 1.
