I studied here. Old town is too busy with tourists to live in for my tase, but there are plenty of districts to choose from. Accommodation is cheap, and you can get mobile data plan in every convenience store. It's also quite safe - local girls aren't afraid to walk alone after dawn. Just don't bother drunk people in front of the bar and you will be fine. Also if you didn't take some 1-2 day tours to nearby places you're missing out: Wieliczka, Energylandia, Zakopane, Auschwitz. Air quality and

Pros: -Great airport for connections to Africa and South America. -Has some really beautiful views. -Great fruit and fish. -Native Portuguese people are generally friendly and helpful. -Wonderful moderate climate (better than Spain) Cons: -The dirtiest major city I've seen in Europe. Filthy buildings and dog crap everywhere. -Unsafe - most other women I spoke to said they feel unsafe walking alone here (being leered at, whistled at and followed by the mostly immigrant men is a common occurrenc

Mumbai, August 28-September 2, September 7, September 11 2019. Got a friend to pick me up at the airport, so I can't evaluate how well UBER works from the airport. Prepaid taxi from the airport is my usual recommendation, and if I was traveling tomorrow that is what I would do. Inside of Mumbai, UBER was my go-to app and worked well. Autos (aka 'Tuk-tuks' in some places) get around well and are cheap, some are also on Uber. Be aware that unless you use a service like UBER, as a foreigner, th

Hong Kong is a great city with dense urban areas but also nature and hiking routes only 15 minutes away. There are restaurants for every taste and budget, from the best US fast casual chains to high end Michelin star restaurants. It's also extremely safe, despite recent political instability.

I lived in Central Warsaw on and off for about 1 year pre and post-pandemic. Central Warsaw is the "New York of Eastern Europe". Pros: - Very convenient, safe and clean. - Lots of modern, futuristic buildings. Easy to find nice apartments. - Very bike-able. - Not too expensive. - Lots of coworking spaces. - Some startup culture and quite a few meetups (pre-pandemic). - Polish women are beautiful. - Interesting history. Didn't plan to come to Zagreb, and so had no expectations. Turned out to be a lovely, liveable city, so much so that I extended my stay by several weeks! Contrary to some of the comments from a year ago, it is now very vegan friendly, cards are universally accepted, steady WiFi si abundant, and many other people are working from coffee shops. The city is very walkable, and more affordable than Split or Dubrovnik.

  • Belgrade

I was born and raised in Belgrade and all I can say is the city is very underrated. Been to many major cities in Europe, Northern Africa, and also lived for half a year in Los Angeles. I don't wanna sound as if I'm a big local patriot. I will try to be as much as genuine as possible. I completely agree with the fact that most places are full of smoke from cigarettes yet there are parts of the objects separated from smoking sections. This is available in many restaurants, cafes, bars, etc. You

I grew up in Chicago and still return fairly often. I love the character of the different neighborhoods, the variety of architectural styles, and as others have said, the food scene is incredible. It's easy to make friends in the suburbs, perhaps not so much in the city itself. I have never witnessed racial tension here, and have been pleasantly surprised by the interracial friendliness I have observed. There are a wonderful selection of forests and parks just about everywhere, and the museu

You
