I agree so much with this review from 11 months ago. "A city right out of a dystopian novel" - that's what I was thinking on the way to the Airport after spending just a week in Bangkok. A city right out of a dystopian novel - soulless and cynical. The air is polluted and no trees are in sight. Its inhabitants manipulative and cold-hearted - hidden behind fake smiles. A Disney Land for senile retirees. Everything is for sale and nothing has value. The streets are filled with rats - both human o

If you have money, stay in Lomas. That's it. The other areas of the city which every Samantha, Bryan, and pink-haired person named Leaf have mentioned are all worth visiting and enjoying, but just stay in Lomas. Quiet, less population, no dust, and most importantly, you can avoid the broke Americans from Bushwick or WeHo who eat at Orinoco every night to save money.

I really liked Chiang Mai but I can't put my finger on why. I'll try to remain unbiased so here goes. Chiang Mai is a dirty place with horrible pollution levels. English speaking is okay. I did really enjoy a balance of simple, risk-free living at low cost and acceptable quality of living. Many places only accept cash but plenty accept card. There's lots to do and it's fun exploring on a moped/motorbike. It feels as easy as Canggu with more modern appointments to get by as a westerner a bit easi

I've been hanging out in Berlin on and off for 30 years. It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

Taxis in Istanbul are a big problem even for locals. Public transport is convenient and comfortable. If you need to call a taxi, I recommend using an app. "Bitaksi" can be used. Agree with the taxi driver using google translate and negotiate in advance if necessary. Always make public transportation your first choice. There are millions of refugees in this city against a registered population of 15 million. A significant number of asylum seekers do not have any registered documents and this cre

Stayed for 2 weeks after almost a year n a half in LatAm. Beautiful city; great food options- especially for Asian food lovers. Plenty of authentic Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese options for about 50% of what you would pay in a Western city. Decent hostels will cost $11-$15 weekdays and between $18-$30 on weekends.... Good internet; beautiful architecture and people but it is true Hungarians can be very cold at times. Overall a good stay with many destinations just a quick and cheap flight/tr

Nomading here is tough because there are no reasonable Airbnbs and finding a short-term apt is difficult. You have to ask yourself, is it worth coming to Barcelona? It's probably the dirtiest city in Spain, and a bit sketchy. There's more beautiful and cleaner cities like Seville where you can find a reasonably priced Airbnb.

A pleasant touristy island which is great for hiking and just traveling around on a car. Funchal isn't a modern city but it's walkable and liveable: there are coworking spaces, decent internet and occasionally you can even find filter coffee.

Unless you want to spend the whole ski season in an outdated, tiny, crowded and poorly manage ski resort and terrible town and atmosphere, thereโs nothing worth noting to do in Bansko. Prague is a beautiful city and I like it despite its quirks. I use it as a base in Europe. It has literally everything you need for long-term living: high-quality food, great nightlife, cool malls with lots of shops, and most people speak English. It even has its own local version of Amazon called Alza, with pick-up stations scattered all over the city, which is great because you usually cannot receive packages in an Airbnb. The city is very walkable and I love just walking around, looking at

For a European capital, there's not much to do. It's extremely overpriced for what it offers. Did not find the locals nearly as friendly as sources say. Food is very meh. Grocery stores are disorganized and everything close to expiry. You will have to beg and compete to find a dump of an apartment for under $2,000 euro/month. Maybe quality of life is better in the suburbs, but the city centre and surrounding area is not an attractive place to live. Overall, just avoid. For a similar price, you

Extremely boring and uppity. Like others say, how on earth does everything close at 8pm? Even restaurants close their kitchen around 9pm ON WEEKENDS. The people really have this "arrogant, uppity" vibe that makes you want to leave ASAP. Yes, architecture is incredible. It's walkable, transportation works, etc. Incredibly expensive. I see no reason why would anyone choose Vienna to Budapest or Prague as their base. Good for 2-3 days trip, nothing else.

The town has been taken over by tourists. Local music venues that have been around for 50+ years are closing because they can't afford the rent hikes. Tourism + out of town developers are driving prices for locals up and the job market can't keep up (minimum wage is still $7.25 an hour.) Seattle is a great city, especially if you like nature, there are plenty of outdoor activities to do all year round. People are generally open-minded and friendly. The cost of living is high but it allows you to be able to afford other places on earth easily if you can find a job here. You can also find plenty of good restaurants and arts around in the city. I recommend to stay at least 3-6 months to get the feel of living a PNW life.

I've been living in the Twin Cities (Saint Paul to be exact but I'm often in Mpls too) for about 8 months now. It really is a hidden gem in North America. Possibly one of the last major metropolitan areas in the US where housing is still relatively affordable if you have a good job. Lots of music venues and outdoorsy culture. I was in Munich for 9 months and couldn't get used to the city. It's actually a small town for old and rich people. The flair is not international, but terribly German-conservative. There is neither an interesting start-up nor a tech community. Many people are unfriendly when you speak English. The leisure activities outside Munich (nature) are nice, unfortunately there is not much going on in the city compared to London, Berlin or Barcelona. Where cowboys and the wild west truly started, San Antonio is a beautiful and historic city with many layers to explore within and outside the city. It's a hotter town than Austin, not just in temperature, but also in terms of friendliness, activities, family values, and cultural richness (with authentic tacos of all types, Tex-Mex, Cali style, and from Mexico City), it has one of the best culinary and cocktail scenes in the country.
