Always on the Top Livable Cities List, but it really should be in the Top Boring Cities List. It's like a big town, and it's kind of stuck in the past. You really feel like you are in the South. Plenty of old people & Asian students. Normal - everyone moves to Sydney or Melbourne which are incredibly more fun and exciting.

The most vietnamese city in Vietnam. The Old Quarter and West Lake are the highlights. If you come, try the egg coffee. Be mindful Vietnam has cracked down on visas, and it is not as friendly to foreigners. I was able to relax after I received a 5-year spousal visa.

Stayed here for a month. It reminds me of a less-developed Bangkok. Although there are a lot of high-rise buildings being built at the moment. Very cheap place compared to lots of places in Asia however it's one of the most expensive places in Vietnam. I wouldn't stay here long term, good for a month but was ready to move on. Very nice city, but as everyone says, a bit boring after awhile. It's comfortable and feels like the suburbs, with conveniences that you don't always find in SE Asian countries. Luxury shopping malls, excellent hospitals, and infrastructure, are all things that are not as common in other SE Asian countries, (although Bangkok, TH, has good malls and hospitals). Can’t recommend Ubud. It’s just the same overdeveloped and overpriced mentally isolated tourist trap that is Canggu, just a bit worse. If you have never been anywhere else, it might be okay for 2 weeks, but to any seasoned traveller it’s a the type of place you dread.

Krabi is a nice weekend getaway if you stay in Bangkok and wanna escape the city for a few days. That being said, the best area for staying is Ao Nang beach. From here, you can go to the famous Railay beach with a longtail boat within 15 minutes and also the tours to Phi Phi and Hong Island start from here. There is a club called Upbeat Bar/Loft RNB in the middle of Ao Nang that gets kinda busy, although not super crowded in the rainy season. Maybe main season is different. Stay away from Krabi

The ugliest city I've ever set foot in. It is very polluted. Developers are obsessed with "European" style building because it looks "rich". There are an endless amount of shopping malls with new ones coming, which get old quickly. "Parks" here are more of an afterthought, not a legitimate park. Gated communities are the fabric of the city so you must drive or walk through the main roads that are jam-packed with traffic. In other words, the city is made up of exclusive pockets of housing areas t
