I'm a native Ålesunder, and I'll be honest: this city is boring as hell. Very few cafés/restaurants/bars/museums/etc. Therefore it'll also be hard to make friends and connections. For a European capital, there's not much to do. It's extremely overpriced for what it offers. Did not find the locals nearly as friendly as sources say. Food is very meh. I've lived in New York City - Brooklyn - for over 20 years. For visiting tourists, the best neighborhood to stay in is NOT Bushwick. Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Ft. Green or Brooklyn Heights is preferable. Plenty of good transportation in those areas - subway, buses or Uber. Easy access to beaches in Long Island and New Jersey. There's plenty to do in NYC. Great restaurants, Broadway plays (!), and in the summer you frequently can catch a free concert.

Nomading here is tough because there are no reasonable Airbnbs and finding a short-term apt is difficult. You have to ask yourself, is it worth coming to Barcelona? Just came back from my second proper trip to Copenhagen. Now, I've been there in February and August, which is a huge contrast in this city. I´ve lived here for five years and know at least three friends, me included that have had stuff stolen. Ive had three bikes stolen for example. One of the cities strengths is its multicultural food industry! Some areas like Rosengård have a higher crime rate. Malmö has some decent areas that are nice, just be wary of what neighbourhoods you choose to spend your time in.

Prague is a beautiful city and I like it despite its quirks. I use it as a base in Europe. It has literally everything you need for long-term living: high-quality food, great nightlife, cool malls with lots of shops, and most people speak English. It even has its own local version of Amazon called Alza, with pick-up stations scattered all over the city, which is great because you usually cannot receive packages in an Airbnb. Tokyo has so much to offer and so much to do. It is easily overwhelming. Whereas I usually take my first week to explore a place Tokyo’s sights just kept on going.
