I lived in Beijing for almost 3 years from 2014-2017. It's an incredible city with a lot to offer. It's an imposing place and not the most welcoming, but that's because it takes time to adjust. Trying a month — 3 weeks in, not a fan. Transient.. feels like nowhere. Faint smell of sewerage, not walkable, beach absolutely packed and at the end of the day when the sun backs off (June).
