I've been here two years, and I can tell you costs aren't as high as reported here - unless you're traveling during the summer months. Any other time of the year, you can find a decent apartment for a decent price (~โ‚ฌ800/mo) and take advantage of low cost of living. Has plenty of hikes around, ideal if you have a vehicle. Bicycle culture is pretty established, but not a lot of bike lanes sadly. Sun & Co is focal point of nomad community, but there are plenty of slowmads or ex-nomads who have s

We used to live in Canggu back in 2017, it felt back then like the perfect balance between western development and local culture. You used to have enough cafรฉs and restaurants and stays were mainly affordable villas. Coming back in 2023 I have to say this place is unrecognizable. Only now I realize how much damage influencers did to Canggu, telling everyone to come here and invest and overdevelop with little to no regard to the local culture. Also the pandemic played its part, you used to nee

Great for tourism, bad for living. The City has a fascinating contrast of old and new. You will never get bored, itโ€™s easy to meet people and have fun. Infrastructure and food are great. Thai people are friendly and welcoming, even when it not always feels genuine. With that said, itโ€™s not a good city for long term living. Itโ€™s too hot and humid. Very nice city, but as everyone says, a bit boring after awhile. It's comfortable and feels like the suburbs, with conveniences that you don't always find in SE Asian countries. Luxury shopping malls, excellent hospitals, and infrastructure, are all things that are not as common in other SE Asian countries, (although Bangkok, TH, has good malls and hospitals). KLCC is safe, from a solo female traveler, if you're careful. I stayed in the KLCC area and was advised by other KL nomads, to stay ins

Lived in Copenhagen for just under three years, and for the whole time, I have worked remotely as a freelancer. It's pretty much as perfect as you're going to get in terms of urban design; getting around is easy and safe by bike, and the public transport network is efficient and reasonably-priced. Lots of fun things to do for a relatively small city, and the locals areโ€”from personal experienceโ€”incredibly friendly. Pros: - Very safe. You can walk around most areas round-the-clock and not h

Cagliari is not that Nomad friendly but once you adjust, you like the staying. Being concrete: 1) In cafรฉs you are expected to order, drink the coffee and get out, not to chill for half day 2) People will not speak English even if they knew, they still answer in Italian 3) You can't go swimming or gyming without a doctor's certificate that you're eligible for that activity.... you may buy cigarretes without doctor's appointment though :-/ 4) Renting houses / cars is expensive, especially in su

I absolutely love Istanbul! My biggest recommendation would be to stay in Cihangir or NiลŸantaลŸฤฑ and avoid the main centre. Cihangir has so many beautiful cafes to work from and there are a lot of people working remotely so it's a really nice vibe. I agree with the comments about taxis, we just caught ubers but mostly walked everywhere which I would recommend. If you stay in Cihangir you can easily walk to Taxim square and through Galata. The food scene here is great once you know where to go
