This is an algorithmic recommendation based on @helenolivas's trips history to find places they haven't been to yet that other people with similar travels also went and liked.
This city is not for everyone, if you like shopping malls and big crowded cities it is for you. It may be cheap but if you want to live in a good location with swimming pool, go to nice rooftops and restaurants, use taxis then it is similar cost to western countries. In many areas there are no sidewalks, big and dangerous traffic all the time, pollution, taxis do not want to go with meter, it can get really hot. Definitely try to live by the metro. Many foreigners, mostly friendly people, cheap

2nd time to Tokyo in 2 years. So much to see and do and great value in the past few years due to a declining yen against the USD & Euro. The other reviews are rightโit's a good city with excellent value for money. The people are nice enough. The infrastructure is good. Budapest was on my list about cities for living. I stayed for 7 days and was a little disappointed People are not very friendly, lots os places very dirty, people smoke a lot and the costs isn't affordable as people indicated here. Its a beautiful place, walkable, people have a good level of education, lots of things to do, but not as i imagined. Even so its a nice place.

Canโt recommend Ubud. Itโs just the same overdeveloped and overpriced mentally isolated tourist trap that is Canggu, just a bit worse. If you have never been anywhere else, it might be okay for 2 weeks, but to any seasoned traveller itโs a the type of place you dread.

Lived in Prague for 8 years. It's a beautiful international European city. Never learned Czech, but was fine. Almost all cafes and restaurants have English menus. Superb food delivery apps (Wolt is the best). All the food you can imagine. Vietnamese food is world-class because of the huge Vietnamese population. It used to be a nice city for nomads, but its out-priced now and don't recommend it. I am a single female- remote worker from USA with residence permit of 2 years and have to say its not what it used to be. Stormy tropical weather as we speak so unpredictable these days. Landlords charging ridiculous prices and amenities just don't match quality that should be given. Looking into Spain as we speak..

I don't know exactly how Barcelona is still considered safe but it's far from it. It's probably the most dangerous city to live in Madrid and one of the most dangerous in europe, with constant pick-pocketing and even violent crimes to get your wallet and phone in certain areas. If you like a peaceful life, Barcelona is not the place anymore!!

Athens is a fantastic city. Locals are friendly and food is fantastic. There isn't a huge amount to do, but for a short stay it's definitely worth the visit.

I guess if you're a nomad this doesn't matter much, but the long-term job pickings here are slim and among the most underpaid for a US city. There seems to be a tacit rent floor that means you won't find a good deal on housing. A lot of people don't seem very invested in their interpersonal relationships here since their ties to the area are often transient.

I spent 4 months working here during summertime. It's one of the best summers I have ever had in my life. The city is just amazing and offers dozens of outdoor activities. There are so many different places such as parks, lakes, hills, mountains, beaches, etc. Also, you can feel the Californication vibe on every step. I lived in Hollywood and I would avoid this place at any cost. It's just too overrated and won't meet your expectations. Hollywood (esp. West Hollywood) is a big pile of dirtiness

New York is cool. Iโve visited multiple times to see my family throughout my life, and recently came back from my first post-COVID trip there. Lived here for over a year, but I only recommend short visits. Contrary to what you hear, there is plenty of crime in parts of Dubai. Talking about that crime is considered taboo and, in many cases, is illegal. Sexual assault and gang violence against expats took place just outside my building, to people who lived in my building. Canggu has changed quite a lot. Inmigration treats tourist like shit. Congestion and traffic is a nightmare. Horrible Pollution. Been living here 2 years and I am def closing this chapter. Stay 3 months. Great stay with everything you need. Great food and transportation like any japanese city. I think it's better positioned than Tokyo to visit the highlights of the country. Has everything a digital nomad needs and more. I'm not much of partier but their is a scene with all music genres. People are very friendly but of course helps if you can speak Japanese. Nice and clean modern city. Nothing about it fitted my preconceptions I had as a European about Brazil: I though it'd be dangerous with favelas everywhere. Of course this is South Brazil so it's rich and very different than the North. Curitiba feels more like a Western European city than anything. I did not like it. The people are nice though. Palermo Hollywood and Soho are very walkable hipster neighborhoods, kinda remind me of the chill parts of Barcelona. Food is hit or miss.
