  • Buenos Aires

Been living here in Buenos Aires for almost three years. Right now, it's (relatively) cheap. I mean, it isn't for the people who currently lives here but it's if you're a foreign, as the inflation keeps going on the peso isn't that worthy now. But, as I'm saying, if you come with dollars is going to make a huge difference. (3 years ago: 20 pesos= 1 USD. June 2020: 95 pesos= 1 USD. and if you're selling dollars in the informal market they will pay you $124. and with that you can buy two small

Maybe Iโ€™m a bit unfair here, but Santiago is so... boring. People donโ€™t look so happy and arenโ€™t welcoming, city has nothing special, currency with so many zeros is hard to get used... didnโ€™t have a bad time, but it wasnโ€™t great either. Just dull. Maybe Iโ€™m wrong and in a long term it worth it, but it lacks authenticity and donโ€™t even compare to other cities in Latin America such as Mexico City or even Buenos Aires, both cheaper and funnier.

  • Lima

One of the most horrendous cities I've ever been to. Too much traffic, ugly architecture and even the food is very much hit and miss. Oh and housing is not that cheap. People can range from very friendly to very much not caring but on average, they're neither unfriendly nor easy to connect with, even if you speak good Spanish. More than anything, from someone used to the lively vibe in Colombia or Mexico, the place is as lively as a cemetery. No music, not even a peep at night... There's a reaso

  • Mexico City

I'm the one who left the review complaining about how people don't speak English 2-3 months ago. I think it's only fair to leave another review as I projected a pretty negative overall picture of the place. I came back a second time and boy, I'm glad I did. The language barrier didn't disappear, but I came with a different mindset and made efforts to learn some basic Spanish. Being able to explain how you want your coffee even makes a huge difference. Mexican people are kind and warm-hearted.

Nothing does a better job of explaining LAโ€™s beautiful diversity and different neighborhoods than the documentary about the late Jonathan Gold, our cityโ€™s greatest amabassador and the only food critic to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. It is called, โ€œCity of Goldโ€ and if you want to know LA, just watch this film. Trailer link: https://youtu.be/DmKTRDfz1zM

  • Prague

I visited Prague on more than one occasion and tried something new each time. I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately it turned out to be one of my least favourite cities. Perhaps it was just me, but there was an overwhelming sense of distrust and dislike towards foreigners, you have to try pretty hard to blend in if you want to experience the life of a local & avoid the tourism. I met some wonderful people and and thereโ€™s some cool communities to be part of, but another extended stay

  • Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai used to be N.1 for the digital nomad life. It is still great and you can find really cheap apartments (300-400$) and restaurants (2-3$ for a main). Wouldn't recommend staying there during the burning season. The best area is Nimman, but it's also the most expensive. You can stay in the old city that's very nice but that gets noisy during the weekend for the night markets. Last but not least, very safe city. All in all would go back in a heartbeat.

Split is a very pleasant town. You have Roman ruins, clear Adriatic waters, ferries to Hvar and other islands. Places to stay are affordable, food is medium priced. English is pretty commonly spoken. You can explore the town in about two days, but it seems a very pleasant place to live (Iโ€™ve been here 2 weeks & plan to stay for 2 months).

Putrajaya is the only place I would recommend due to its close proximity to the airport. The Shaftsbury Hotel is modern with two convenience stores, pharmacy, restaurants, dental, and more in the actual building. There is a rain fountain in "mall" of the building that would be Putrajaya's attempt at Singapore's airport one. The location is also literally right across from the bigger mall that has restaurants, international grocery store, movie theater, bowling, electronics, etc. It's a safe a

Only thing to add is that in general Saigon has terrible walkability. I love Saigon, lived there for 3 years. But motorbikes are always parked on the sidewalks so you constantly have to step onto the road which is a little hair raising. And if it's not motorbikes then there are restaurant tables scattered across the pavement. Plus the pavement is almost always cracked. I'm a pretty chill person. But going for a random walk in Saigon always leaves me kind of irritated after a while. Of course the
