I am from Rio de Janeiro and own a digital tourism company. I've been working and travel for the last 5 years and always looking for my next destination. I like parties and social activities... as a good brazilian guy, I really aprecciate a cold beer.

Sao Paulo is a place of high contrasts. Massive buildings, roads, and road rage co-exist with peaceful parks, fantastic skies, and very kind locals. Before you go, make sure you have the right expectations because this place is the South American equivalent of LA or NYC. It is absurdly different from Rio as far as the activities and landscape. Some of my favorite things are the 20,000+ restaurants and bars, people watching (more contrast), free art museums and attractions, and the fantastic co-w

I was here for a month. Rio is a beautiful and vibrant city. There's a lot of icons to see. There's great food and the beach is right there. In my, experience the pandemic hasn't impacted the city much. Bars and clubs are still open. I usually go out to Leblon, Ipanema, Lapa, and Barra da Tijuca. However, it can definitely be a dangerous city if you're being careless. About 10% of the people I've met had an incident there. I was mugged once walking home one night after the clubs in Ipanema, an

Da Lat is not a great place. I came here for fresh air (after 1 year in Chiang Mai) but unfortunately that is an illusion. They are burning in the mountains and you can see the smoke going up to the sky. And in the city it is not much better, the air is very much polluted there as well. I tried many restaurants but mostly the food is not very good and the service is depressingly bad. Combine that with the rubbish you see everywhere (especially around the center) and Da Lat makes not a happy pl

Been living here in Buenos Aires for almost three years. Right now, it's (relatively) cheap. I mean, it isn't for the people who currently lives here but it's if you're a foreign, as the inflation keeps going on the peso isn't that worthy now. But, as I'm saying, if you come with dollars is going to make a huge difference. (3 years ago: 20 pesos= 1 USD. June 2020: 95 pesos= 1 USD. and if you're selling dollars in the informal market they will pay you $124. and with that you can buy two small

  • Hoi An

I stayed in Hoi An much longer than I planned (10 days) because it was so pleasant. Yes, tourists everywhere. But my hotel was gorgeous and cheap and the wifi was plenty fast for work. When not working I biked out to the beach or through the paddies or into town (too crowded for a bike most times but functional if needed) or just around the countryside. Had some of my friendliest encounters here and as a single woman, always felt safe - night or day.

  • Santiago

Iโ€™ve been living in Santiago since 2019โ€ฆ and I complete agree with the review calling Santiago boring and expensive. Unless you already have friends here, save yourself money and time and look for other cities in Latam.

  • Da Nang

Let's make it short again: (1,5 years living experience in Da Nang) Da Nang is Chiang Mai with a Beach without the annoying nomad scenes. -Most foreigners are English teachers or retired Australians. If you don't like it, mix up with locals. 90% of my friends are Vietnamese. -Be careful with Constructions at the Beach Side. If you want a quiet life go to Son Tra. If you want more Action go to An Thuong Area. If you want local experience go behind the bridge - Nightlife growing and enough Opti
