I've moved here permanently. Kids are in an elite school for $600pm, and I'm the only non-Colombian parent. I'm surprised there aren't more foreigners. Going to Gringo Tuesdays is a very touristy thing, I only ever went once everyone is 25 and trying to get laid basically, and its P$11,000 a beer, my local pub sells beer for $P2,000 by comparison. The longer you are here the more you discover. The "centre" of the city is really from 83rd-93rd-115th roughly, 83rd has loads of great clubs and rest

The salsa capital of the world. If you want to learn how to dance, go here. There are so many great places to learn and practice and at a fraction of learning anywhere else. The people are some of the most loving and kind people I've ever encountered. It's a bit of a party scene. You can also access the pacific very easily from Cali. The weather is always beautiful. As is the case with any Latin American country, you need to develop a 6th sense for your belongings and surroundings. Don't pull

I have worked remotely from Minca for the last 4 years and can attest that there are a few good spots with a reliable internet connection! The place is a paradise to work from, as the natural beauty of the mountain inspires, relaxes, and connects! I would suggest searching on AirBnB for houses with good WiFi or check the local ex-pat in santa marta page for tips!

I have been living in Quito for almost 3 years, and at this moment in time, I can not recommend it as a travel or remote work destination. A number of high profile terrorist attacks have rocked the country, and the prevalence of random violence and kidnappings in urban areas is increasing. Everything works, beautiful greenery (hehe), cycling everywhere, happy people, great nightlife... Lots to love about. For nomads? Not a chance. Price of housing is outrageous, and the city is expensive af. They charge you 4.5-5 eur for a capuccino, completely shameless. An hour of public transport is 3 euros. I could go on and on. I'd love to live there, but it's not worth it.

It is very safe for women. It is much friendlier than it used to be. There are loads of vegan restaurants now. The nightlife and specially jazz clubs are amazing! I have an excellent apartment to rent out in Wedding - which used to have a boring reputation but now is very cool.

You have here: - modern shopping centers & traditional markets - michelin star restaurants & street food - sky trains & tuktuks - skyscrapers & temples - nightlife & culture In my opinion, there is no other city in the world that offers so much diversity. In addition, life there is very cheap compared to other big cities in the world. You can get apartments with a rooftop pool, gym and co-working
